Camille – 3 years working with Les Restos du Cœur

I’ve always wanted to get involved with an association, but as a young working woman it’s often hard to find the time. And then I discovered camions du cœur. You volunteer once a week, in the evening.  I distribute food in Villeurbanne, just outside Lyon. Every evening, more than 150 people come to eat. Lots of them come to eat a hot meal, but more and more come for the social aspect, to talk without being judged. Volunteering has given me a lot over the years. The relationships we create with the recipients are really special and when they leave with a smile on their face, the feeling is indescribable. This commitment is essential for me, which is something agap2 and the clients I work with understand.
